Kimberley Locke to star in new film, "Therapy Sessions"

Many of Kimberley's fans have asked her over the years when she was going to get into acting. Her answer to this question was usually "when the perfect project comes along." That script has presented itself to her recently.

Kimberley has signed on to star in the new T Jones film, "Therapy Sessions". The film will also star BernNadette Stanis (Good Times) & Elise Neal (Scream 2, All Of Us) and is to be directed by Tony Singletary (The Parkers, Married With Children).

T Jones has launched a campaign on Kickstarter to raise the $7000 needed to film the trailer which is an important step to securing funding for the film project. Pledges can be as low as $1 but some really cool incentives have been offered based on the donation amount:

$10+ - honorable mention in the end credits

$20+ - honorable mention and Therapy Sessions T-shirt

$30+ - honorable mention, t-shirt and signed copy of trailer DVD

$50+ - honorable mention, t-shirt, DVD, invitation to private screening with cast (LA area)

Kimberley really got into the Halloween spirit this year, posting an incredible picture of herself as Catwoman. Having received numerous comparisons to a young Eartha Kitt over the years, Kimberley drew inspiration from the late actress who portrayed Catwoman in the 1960s Batman TV series. The photograph was taken by renowned celebrity photographer Guy Guido who also photographed her for the cover of her recent release, "Four For The Floor".

Fans in California will have a couple upcoming opportunities to see Kimberley perform live. On November 6th, she will be appearing in Los Angeles at the 14th Annual GLAAD Tidings and will be hosting Santa's arrival and tree lighting ceremony at Promenade Temecula on November 12th.Kimberley has just returned from New York City where she performed at the 3rd Annual African Children's Choir Gala. The event was a tremendous success having raised over $30,000 to aid the organization in caring for over 1600 students while they complete their schooling.

In April of this year I was announced to be one of the co-hosts of a new ABC daytime talk show called “The Revolution.” Unfortunately, I received word last week that I will not be a part of the panel. Of course, I was disappointed but I realize that this decision was out of my control. I believe in the concept and mission of this show and thought that it perfectly aligns with my passions. I realized this more so while shooting the pilot last year. I experienced 2 women become so empowered by the assistance that they got from Tim Gunn, Harley Pasternak, myself and others. This was proof enough that this show does have the potential to transform peoples’ lives. Not to mention the format is very innovative and ambitious. I wish the show all of the success that comes its way.

As a young woman in this industry, I was just elated the day that I was called into ABC for my first meeting! Are you joking? (This whole experience is more than I could have ever imagined). In continuing the process (with 3 Ball Productions) I demonstrated that I do have it in me to accomplish my goal of becoming a talk show host. They further acknowledged my potential when they announced me back in April. They believed in me and for that I am thankful and grateful. They gave me a great opportunity to practice and most importantly LEARN. Every experience, good or bad, is an opportunity for growth. As I tweeted the other day, “We can learn something from everybody.”

So I will leave you with this… I work in show “business”. This is a business first and foremost. I understand that at the end of the day there are a lot of decisions to be made about the show to ensure that the business is successful. Those decisions are not to be taken personally. I realize that this is part of the process and we all go through it.

I am a hard worker. Now I will take the same energy that I put into “The Revolution” and put into my next project(s).

New Release - "Four For The Floor"

New EP Release Date

Back in May, Kimberley posted 3 new songs to her Facebook page allowing fans to vote on their favorite to become her next single. The winning song through this campaign was ‘Finally Free’ but the response to all the songs was so great that she has decided to release all 3 as a new EP, ‘Four For The Floor’. The dance EP also features the other songs included in the campaign; ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Sirens’ as well as a new version of the previously unreleased track, ‘Runway’.

“The original focus of the campaign was just to figure out what the next single would be” said Locke. “The response and passion the fans had for not only ‘Finally Free,’ but all the new music was amazing! The voting results were very close and since the fans loved the new material so much, I wanted to thank them by releasing all the songs rather than just the single.”

‘Four For The Floor’ will be available for purchase on iTunes and other popular digital retailers on Tuesday, July 19^th via I AM Entertainment.

‘Finally Free’ is expected to impact radio in mid-August with a music video and remix package to follow shortly after. Kimberley co-wrote the song with Grammy-nominated (and fellow Idol alum Ace Young) and Swedish producers Crossfade.

Making the Curve to Hold Auditions

As announced a couple of years ago, Kimberley was attached to a new show in development called ‘Making the Curve’ in which she was seeking the most talented plus size ladies in America to form a new pop group. Auditions for the show will be held soon. To keep up to date on all the details, please follow the show’s pages on Facebook and Twitter.

I think this show is important because as women we’re constantly inundated with images that don’t look like us so we develop this inferior complex about ourselves. Walk With Kimberley at Nashville Cares AIDS Walk

New Single Announcement

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you to everybody who voted in Kimberley's Facebook campaign to choose her next single. The feedback received was overwhelming and Kimberley was on the edge of her seat the entire 2 weeks the voting was open! You couldn't keep her from checking numerous times a day!

It was very close and we couldn't even predict which song was going to win until the very last day! We are excited to finally be able to announce that Kimberley's next single will be....

"FINALLY FREE"!

This song got an instant reaction from the fans when the preview clips were posted. Kimberley collaborated on this track with Grammy-Nominated songwriter Ace Young (and fellow Idol alum) and Swedish producers Crossfade. Since we got the result last Tuesday, Kimberley has been working almost non-stop so she can get the new song released as quickly as possible. She even traveled to New York City this week to meet with some members of her promotion team. They are planning out the promotional campaign and release schedule so we will keep you updated as soon as that is finalized.

New Music, 'The Revolution"

Hello everyone,

Hope this blog finds you well and gearing up for a fun summer!!

I am just getting back to LA and settling in a bit. As you may or may not know, I was in Gallatin (my home town) where I did a performance for Volunteer State Community College, I went to NY, and then to Mexico. Three weeks on the road makes for a lot of luggage and laundry!

The show in my hometown was pretty fantastic. It was such a treat to go home and do a show for the people who have known me all my life and encouraged me along the way. It was an emotional night as I was proud of myself and overwhelmed by the support. It was like everything up that point all made sense as I reflected on my journey. Not only was I presented the Key to the City, the college started a music scholarship in my name. That was pretty awesome!

After that show I was off to NY for a couple of very important meetings with Disney/ABC. I’m sure you’ve heard the news that I will be a part of a new daytime talk show premiering on ABC daytime in Jan 2012. (Happy Birthday to me!) The show is tentatively called, “The Revolution”. I will be co-hosting with fashion expert, Tim Gunn and fitness guru Harley Pasternak. Hosting a TV show has been a (long-term) goal of mine since American Idol. Eight and a half years later, here I am. Writing this in a blog is very surreal. I just can’t believe it! The day I received the news I was completely blown away and shocked. So I am very excited to share this news with you and thank you for all of your encouragement and support over the past several years. I hope you enjoy the show!

Once I left NY I went to Mexico where I performed for Club Atlantis at the Club Med in Cancun. I had never been to Cancun and I must say it was breathtaking and I sure needed a few days of down time to relax and chill. That’s exactly what I did. It was fantastic. After a few days of rest, I must admit I was eager to get back to work.

I know you all are asking, “What about the music?” Well, I am so glad that you asked. LOL. I recently started a new company called I AM Entertainment. I am proud to announce that I will be releasing my music as an independent artist this time around under the company. I know that you are anxious to know when the new music is coming and it is coming very soon. First, I want to ask you a question, “Would you cast your vote to help me and my team determine the next radio single?” Of course you would, right? Well, this is what we are doing, in a few weeks my team will be launching a voting campaign via Facebook. We will be posting 3 audio clips of my new songs that you, the fan, can vote for. Which ever song you vote for the most will be the next song at radio. I encourage you to get as many people as you can to go to the fan page and vote for the single, the more the better, right? I hope you are as excited as I am! I have been writing music for the past year and I can’t wait to see and read your comments. If I know one thing about my fans…. you are honest!!!! Cooking & Fitness Videos

I hope this blog finds everyone doing well and off to a productive new year! I must say that I am excited about this year and bringing more things your way. I mentioned to you all that I love to cook! So I am going to bring you in the kitchen with me one day. I enjoy cooking but it can be quite entertaining! That's the fun of it all, right! So stay tuned for that video clip. I know a lot of you out there are just like me in that you love to cook but you still want to be healthy about it. That's always the challenge in my world! So in addition to cooking I would like to also share some of my health and fitness tips with you online. I am open to any questions that you may have. I enjoy sharing my story and journey of health and fitness. Trust me it is a journey. My weight loss journey really helped me discover my love for cooking! I would love to help you along the way. Reflection

As most of you know I grew up in a small town called Gallatin, TN. A few months ago I went back to the local community college Vol State and did a sit down interview for their in house TV station. Well, this morning they sent me the clip and I want to share it with all of you. I have to say it was very emotional for me watching this video. I started crying so hard that I had to pause it because I couldn't see! During the pause, I called my former Choir Director and friend Mr. Story (who now teaches at Vol State). I was balling. I was overcome with joy to see myself talk about how my High School Choir experience changed my life, as well as my peers. I called him to simply say, "Thank You". (OMG I am crying while I am typing this... LOL). While watching this video I replayed the moments in my head, like a movie. I remember auditioning for choir and how excited I was to meet Mr. Story. He was the Simon of my teenage years. Extremely tough, not always fair ;-), with a big heart for kids and music and one of the most influential people of my adolescent life. I remember the moment in High School when I knew I was born to perform. We were doing our Cabaret show and I had gotten sick with the flu. We had a show every night for a week and I refused to give my songs to the understudy. So I went on anyway. I was sick as a dog! So sick, that my mom came backstage and sat with me in between my numbers and helped me get dressed.... (pausing for a cry). I knew then that I had to do this. I didn't know how it was going to happen but I knew I wanted it. I have so many great stories like this that I could share. From High School to the experiences with my best friends in Shadz of U. We were truly inseparable. Our poor mothers... they listened to us sing sometimes for 10 hours straight, in our bedrooms and basements. Those were some of my best childhood memories. I am excited to share this video with all of my fans because this is such a real part of my life and what makes me who I am.

To Mr. James Story, I hope I have made you proud and I pray that I have represented you well. Thank you for giving so many years of your life and talent to us little kids at Gallatin High School. I will say that your music program not only changed my life but it probably saved my life, as well as many others. Vol State and the community of Gallatin are so lucky to have you. You are truly a blessing to anyone who is privileged enough to sit in your classroom. Whether they realize it now or 15 years down the road, they will be thankful to you. I am proud to be a part of your legacy. Thank you for sowing good seed in this loud mouth, sassy, smart, and sometimes obnoxious, little bi-racial girl, who's mother also gave you a hard time. Thank you and I Love You! I'll see you at the next cookout!!!

To all of my fans out there, meet James Story. I hope you have someone like him in your life. If you do, call them up and tell them "Thank You". If you haven't discovered that person in your life don't worry you will, or maybe they are already there and you just haven't realized it yet. I tweeted the other day that there is always someone cheering for you.... That is so true. Whether you know it or not... you probably have a James Story in your corner.

A Rose Of Thanks

As most of you know, The Golden Globes were last Sunday. In conjunction with the awards ceremony, there are always fabulous gifting suites. What is a gifting suite you may ask? Well, it's basically a one stop shop for new, hot items that are not even on the market yet. People who have new products and want to promote them sign up for the gifting suite so that they can get their fabulous products into the hands of celebrities. They are so much fun! Not to mention you get a lot of great things for free. All they want is for you to take a picture with the product and give it a try. If you like it, they hope you will tell more people about it.

I went to a gifting suite for the Golden Globes at the fabulous London Hotel (I love this hotel!) Being that one of my goals for the the New Year is to keep you, my fans, more up to date with what's going on in my life via video clips and blogs... I decided to take my little hand held Kodak HD camera to the suite with me. I took a lot of videos some of which I plan to share with you! It's always nice to take someone with you to these events and who better to take than my stylist, Nola Roller? We had a blast, got some great free stuff, and made lots of new friends! I hope you enjoy!

One of the first clips that I will post is "A Rose of Thanks". My new friend Matthew Hunt was there getting celebrities to color a card with a rose on it so that he could send it to the troops. How can you say no to that!? Matthew was such a sweetheart and I really enjoyed chatting with him. So he told me all about the organization and even offered to let me draw my very own rose, which I plan to do. This is a very simple gesture that will go a long way. I hope that whomever gets my rose is blessed by it. So here is a clip of me, Matthew, and Nola sending love to the troops with "A Rose of Thanks".

Writing Sessions & DWTS

It's a brand new year and I am very excited that you all are going to be around to share it with me. This year is going to be filled with lots of new opportunities and adventures! I look forward to seeing many of you along the way.

This was really my first week back in LA and boy was it a busy one. I had about 5 writing sessions this week which were all different and amazing! I wrote with Brett Boyett & Stewart Cararas (both pictured to the left), Josh Skinner, and Russ Ali. Tons of fun and a lot of creative energy. I actually took a camera into one of my sessions so that I could share it with you. So be on the lookout for a video clip from Friday's writing session. I am enjoying the creative process... I always seem to surprise myself. :) We are currently looking and writing for the next single. This is a fun and exciting process (not to mention a little stressful). I have you, the fans, in mind throughout the whole process. I'm thinking of how I can surprise you and relate to you all at the same time. Gotta keep the fans happy!!!!! Right??? So stay tuned for new music, video clips and blogs. My goal this year is to stay as connected to my fans as possible. I am very excited!

There are so many things that I am looking forward to doing this year: more writing, more television, and performances. There will be some exciting opportunities for you to get involved with and have some fun. Can't tell you just yet but it will be very soon!!!! I look forward to staying connected with you all. I know you all want to know as much about me as possible so I am going to start sharing some of those things with you. As many of you know I love to cook so keep an eye out for some cooking tips and videos from me. I cook all the time so this should be fun!!!! I also try to stay healthy and fit, so I may be able to throw in the occasional workout tip as well.

I want to make it my business year to help through my charity as well as help another artist. So maybe sometime this year I will introduce you to an up and coming artist, whom I am a huge fan of. I know I can always rely on my fans to be HONEST!!!!! That's why I love ya'll so much! LOL!

Thank you for wanting to know me more as a person and an artist. This will be a fun and amazing year!!!!! We are off to a great start!!!

Disco Diva Bash & One Heartland Updates

Hey All,

I know that you know the new single "Strobelight" is out and available on iTunes so I am just here to give you an update. First, thank you so much for your support! I love all the tweets and messages I get throughout the day about how much you love it! Thanks to all of you who have already downloaded it and are jamming to it in the gym or in your car or wherever!!!! Some of you may have already heard it on satellite radio. I know DMX is spinning it a lot. Thanks DMX!!!! June 1st is the official radio impact day and that's when you will be able to request it on your station. On June 8th, the brand new remixes will be available on iTunes for download... I think there are 6 more! I couldn't be more excited!!!! This takes me back to the release of '8th World Wonder' when I heard it for the first time on the radio, I almost ran off the road!!! LOL! I couldn't be more pleased with your response to this record. Thank you for your support!

As most of you know I will be hosting a party in Nashville, TN at the War Memorial Auditorium on June 19th called the "Disco Diva Bash... You Bring The Diva!" Disco Diva Bash... You Bring the DIVA!

Kimberley Locke is excited to announce her 2nd large venue event in support of One Heartland (http://www.oneheartland.org). One Heartland is a national non-profit organization committed to greatly improving the lives of children, youth and their families impacted by HIV/AIDS and other significant life challenges worldwide. Kimberley has worked with the organization since 2004 and was voted onto the board of directors for the organization in March 2010.

The event, entitled “Disco Diva Bash… You Bring the Diva!” is sponsored by Issima Skin Care (http://www.issimaskin.com) and will take place at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, TN on Saturday, June 19th to coincide with the city’s pride weekend celebrations.

The evening will include performances by Kimberley and will feature the Perry Twins (http://www.perrytwinsmusic.com) DJ’ing until 5am! Also participating with be the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence™ from both Seattle and Nashville chapters!

Tickets will go on sale at 10:01am CST on Tuesday, April 27th through http://www.tpac.org – Purchase your tickets early for a chance to receive gift certificates for services at La Bella e Famosa Spa! The first 25 purchasers of general admission tickets will receive a $50 certificate and the first 10 purchasers of VIP tickets will receive a $125 certificate! That more than pays for one of your tickets immediately!

I want to thank everyone who went out and downloaded their copy of “Strobelight” the first week!!!! I can't thank you enough for all the tweets, messages, and support! This is going to be a fun journey! For those of you wondering what's next I want to keep you updated. I am currently on a plane from New York, where I was promoting the new single. For those of you who watch “Idol”, I will be a part of the show for Idol Gives Back on Wed, April 21. That night I will be hosting for E!, covering the Idol show. Keep your eyes open I'll be popping up in a lot of different places.

Hey Everyone,

I am so excited to have the new single "Strobelight" released TOMORROW!!!!! I can't wait!!!! I want to thank all of you have listened and love it! Working on this project with Randy Jackson has been so much fun. As most of you know we were in Miami a couple of weeks ago for the WMC promoting the single. We got a lot of positive feedback. This song is so different than anything that I have ever done and I so proud to have an original dance song out. Hey Everyone,

I was watching the Janet Jackson interview last night with Robin Roberts and I was so moved and inspired by Janet that I wanted to blog about it. Ladies, if you haven't seen it go watch it online. It is so worth it.

Janet was real, vulnerable and absolutely beautiful. At times I felt as if she were talking to me as my best friend and then there were times that I related to her so much it was scary, as if she were in my head. She did something for me last night that she may never know, she inspired me and let me know that we all share the same issues.

What I want my female fans to know is that we ALL have insecurities, even Janet Jackson. Myself included. To see Janet Jackson sit there in her interview and talk about her weight issues, how she didn't like her smile, and her butt... It was mind blowing!!! Because I was sitting on the couch looking at her as my idol and how amazing she is and to hear her say she's a "Normal" woman just made me love her so much more. Everything that she said I have heard myself say those same things. But Miss Jackson told me last night "that I'm fine".

As for Jermaine Dupree, the way she spoke of his love for her made me melt. Harvey and I rewinded it twice just to hear and see the love they have for one another. I'm blessed because I have someone in my life who let's me know that "I'm fine just the way I am" as well. I'm telling you she moved me!!!!

Through it all, Janet Jackson is still in control!!! I have a new found love for her as a woman. I can't wait to read her book.

Hello Everyone,

I first want to thank all of you for posting on all my fansites and know that read your messages. I appreciate them so much.

I wanted to let you all know that I'm working on a few things that I can't wait to tell you about. Yes, one of those things has to do with a new record. I know you are ready and so am I!!!!!!

I just got back from NY as well as TN where I got to visit my mom, friends and kitties!!!!! I posted a pic of me and my motorcycle, I thought you'd enjoy that.... I did!

As you know the holidays are approaching and I wish you all a happy holiday season! And that you are safe and happy!!!!! I know most of you already have it but if you don't, download the Christmas album and blast it around the house. That's what my mom and I do. She loves the Chipmunks and Charlie Brown Christmas records. Go figure. We are big cartoon people.

I have a few appearances coming up that you may want to know about. I have a date coming up in San Diego (Nov 7th) that I will post on the site once I have the information. Another one is for Camp Heartland in LA on Nov 28th at Hollywood and Highland. I will be there for the Christmas Tree lighting. Also, I will be the Grand Marshall this year for the Reno Christmas Parade on Dec 5th. Hope to see some of you out and about! Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

A New Blog At Last!

Hey there Everyone,

I know it's been a while since I have blogged. Please accept my apologies. There's actually been a lot going on. I'm sure you heard that I will be working on my next album with Randy Jackson. Well that's true. We have been discussing the record and will hopefully start recording soon. Of course, I'll keep you posted.

The next big and newest thing in my life is a television show. Yep! I am so excited about this project. It's called "Making the Curve". Calling all my voluptuous ladies!!!! I told you that I'm still a big girl at heart!!! This show is for the fierce and talented because we will be putting together a singing group of 3 to 4 women. I know, right? Why hasn't this been done already? Well we're doing it! I want all my girls to bring it and sing the faces off of America. Finally, a show that says come as you are and show us what you've got! We just finished a round of pitch meetings in NY and they went really well. So say a prayer and stay tuned. I will not only be hosting the show but I'll be executive producing. So I am excited to broaden my career. This show will be amazing!!! I will keep you posted.

I am actually on a United flight (Carl is taking really good care of me!) headed to Rome to do a cruise with Atlantis on the Celebrity Solstice. I love these shows! I do 2 shows in the big theater and it is a blast!!!! Not to mention the theater is great and I love my gay audience!!!! Michael Orland who is my friend and musical director will be with me as well as my long-time friend Ryan (he's like mastercard- can't leave home without him). I always tell Ryan that he's my Lifesaver- the pineapple one!!!! We are going to have a blast. I'll post some pics when we return.

This summer I went to Camp Heartland camp and had so much fun with the kids in Malibu. What a great organization! I encourage you all to check out www.oneheartland.org. If you feel inclined to do so donate a dollar it goes a long way. Just think if the 60,000 fans I have on myspace donated $1 that would send a lot of kids to camp! I'm sure you're thinking that $1 couldn't possibly make a difference but it goes a long way! The kids come from all over the country to attend camp for free. So make a donation and you will have such a positive affect on a kids life! As Oprah says "pay it forward!"

I'll be appearing on an episode of Rachael Ray as well as the Tyra Banks Show. I know Rachael Ray is airing on Sept 14th but not sure on Tyra's air date. This was my first time on Rachael's show but I was so excited to meet her because we have the cooking thing in common. I love to cook!! :-D. As for Tyra, she has had me on so many times!! I love it that she thinks of me!!!!! She has always supported me. YOU MUST TUNE INTO THIS SHOW! IT'S A DOOZY!!! I had so much fun with her.
